Full-Time Farm to Chef Sales Associates
New York, NY We’ve got good food, now we need to sell it! We are looking for experienced sales associates to help us expand the market for good food in the New York metropolitan area, delivered directly from artisinal producers and family farms. Growing good food distributor seeks experienced, energetic, and enthusiastic professional to build wholesale sales. Wholesale customers include restaurants, insitutions, and retailers.
Responsibilities: Maintain sales contact database, review customer menus, analyze sales reports, and present solutions to customers and prospects. Cold calls and visits to prospective customers. Respond to customer inquiries via telephone or the web.
Qualifications: Successful candidates should have a passion for good food, and a strong interest in developing relationships with restaurants, institutions (including schools), and retailers in the New York metropolitan market. Requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Minimum three years of wholesale and/or distributor sales experience in the food industry, preferably organic and natural foods. Must have excellent database, spreadsheet, organizational and communication skills. Outside sales growth goals included. To be successful in the role, candidates must also be organized, receptive to customer feedback, and have a flexible, can-do approach to sales and product sourcing.
